Stampin' With Da Crew

Wooohooo!  Totally awesome day hanging with  +RGail Tassey  and the ladies for some lunch and a couple of hours of stampin'. Gail Today's menu was a taco bar with brownies and gelato...ok so I probably shouldn't have had the brownies or the gelato, but they were oh so delish...everyone contributes to the lunch so it was awesome...Thanks  +RGail Tassey  and Pam for allowing us to have play time at your home. Then we moved on to the mission of the day...stamping and having fun.  First, we started with Show and Tell. Elaine and Anna Elaine had made some awesome Easter cards and I got to show off some coloring that I had done using my Copic markers.   I also got to show off my incredible haul from Michael's which include:  Some Art Impressions and Stampendous stamps, some copic markers (on Sale buy 2 get 1 FREE), and some storage containers (60% off).  To top it all off, some copic markers that I ordered from otakufuel.com on Mar 16 were wai

Happy First Day of Spring!

Happy 1st day of Spring!  It's a beautiful day here is Texas...sun is shining, weather is sweet--oh wait!  Aren't those words to a song?  I do believe they are...thank you very much Bob Marley So Sunday's are going to be "Seeking Sunday"...meaning I'm seeking knowledge about something, whether it be a new technique, product, idea...anything... Today was either going to be card making using the resist technique or water coloring.  I couldn't find my embossing powders (found 2 of them later on) so by default, water coloring it is.  In some of the Facebook groups that I'm in, of late I've been seeing lots of water colored images, so in my Jill of all trades, master of none mode, I set out to learn and actually make something today.  I turned to my trusty pal...YouTube...and as I had Spectrum Aqua Markers, I set about finding a tutorial that would at least give me the basics on what's involved and how to go about water coloring.  Here'

Copic Coloring - Hair

I've been totally challenged (read petrified) of coloring hair on my digital images...I've literally got about 5 (I haven't been doing this for a long time) pieces colored except for their hair...frustrating to say the least.   So today, I took the opportunity to attempt to color hair...accckkkk!  Using the tutorial from my Skin and Hair Class from Kit and Clowder , I set forth with a purpose...color some hair.  It's not a bad job if  I do say so myself, but I'm a ways away from coloring hair the way I want to.  As they say though, practice makes perfect and I've started practicing... What do you think? I used Copic Markers:  E11, E13, E15 and E18

Stampers!--Awesome People--Fo' Sure!

Whew!  Now I know why, I'm so tired during the week...heck, I do way too much on the weekend.  I had an awesome day yesterday starting with my monthly meeting with the totally fabulous women of +Alpha Kappa Zeta Chapter of +Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.  We conducted Zeta business and then we fellowshipped...another word for socialized.  Love my Sorors! My circle of stamping friends is beginning to expand...thank goodness.  I met Lydia Fiedler at a meetup event that she organizes (love meetup.com by the way), and I absolutely love her.  She too is a demonstrator with Stampin' Up!, but mostly, she's local...read Austin...so I get to interact with her and see how she hosts her workshops.  As a result of meeting  +Lydia Fiedler  and with her encouragement, I started my own meetup group  Sweets Signatures Cardmaking Meetup South Austin  (check us out), where I'm hoping to meet others with the same interests.  I also met this other incredible person  +RGail Tassey
