Stampers!--Awesome People--Fo' Sure!

Whew!  Now I know why, I'm so tired during the week...heck, I do way too much on the weekend.  I had an awesome day yesterday starting with my monthly meeting with the totally fabulous women of +Alpha Kappa Zeta Chapter of +Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.  We conducted Zeta business and then we fellowshipped...another word for socialized.  Love my Sorors!

My circle of stamping friends is beginning to expand...thank goodness.  I met Lydia Fiedler at a meetup event that she organizes (love meetup.com by the way), and I absolutely love her.  She too is a demonstrator with Stampin' Up!, but mostly, she's local...read Austin...so I get to interact with her and see how she hosts her workshops.  As a result of meeting +Lydia Fiedler and with her encouragement, I started my own meetup group Sweets Signatures Cardmaking Meetup South Austin (check us out), where I'm hoping to meet others with the same interests.  I also met this other incredible person +RGail Tassey, who is already helping me to get better in my #coloring skills using copic markers specifically and coloring skills in general.

The crop crew...Happy St. Paddy's Day!
I also met +Crissy Salima Rivas administrator of the Facebook Group, Austin Area Stampers and went to my 1st (of many) crops at her house yesterday and totally had a blast!  Our make and take project yesterday was a simple St. Patrick's Day card.  Crissy is a demonstrator with Fun Journey Stamps, so I got exposed to stamps and products from another retailer...several pieces in the catalog that I must have...Crissy and I are soon to become best friends... Not only did we do a make and take, we did a stamp swap (share--I think this is the better word). Several of the other ladies brought some--mind you--of their stamps and I had a ball scouring through them for the ones I liked--there were oh so many.  Here are a few that I decided on...can't wait to get started coloring them and making cards with them...

In The Moment January - June 2022 Mini Catalog Sneak Peak

Hello, all! Thank you for joining me for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop! For those of you who are unfamiliar, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who share our love of card making with you through monthly blog hops with various themes.  This month, we are sharing with you sneak peeks from the January - June 2022 Mini Catalog.  If you've come from  Mo Rootes'  blog, then you saw her project using the  Stampin' Up! Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper (DSP) . I hope these and the other projects serve to inspire your creativity.   Speaking of catalogs, if you don't have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like a catalog, reach out to me. I'd love to get one out to you and to serve as your demonstrator. For my contribution to this blog hop, I chose the "In the Moment" set. I fell in love with this set, "In The Moment", the moment I opened my order and saw it.  This was another of the FREE swag bag produc...

Stampin' with Friends Technique Blog Hop - Masking

Hi there, Stamping Friends!  It's time for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop.  As you know, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators who enjoy paper crafting, creating cards, and other projects to share with each other and with you. If you've arrived from Karen's blog, welcome!  This time, the theme is to create a card or project based on a favorite technique.  There are sooooo many techniques that I love but with this project, I'm going to focus mainly on two.  Can you guess what one of them is? Yup, you guessed it...masking!  There're so many things you can do with this technique from: simple masking to creating seamless backgrounds and adding depth...hmmm, I think I've decided to do a blog series focusing on the different things you can do with masking. For this post, I chose to start with a simple spotlight masking technique. Let me show you how I created this card. Now I incorporated several other techniques (dry ...

Stampin' with Friends Blog Hop Vine Design

Hi, so glad you decided to pop in to see what I have in store for you today.   This is my inaugural blog hop with Stamping with Friends. Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who enjoy sharing our love of paper crafting in general and for me, more specifically, card making with you. The group hosts two hops every month.   The theme for this hop showcases retiring sets, bundles, or products from the January - June 2021 mini catalog that retires at the end of this month.  I chose to feature the Vine Design Bundle. I was drawn to this bundle for many reasons; first, the die cuts are elegant and can stand alone to create a beautiful, simple yet elegant card, second, the sentiments also make it a very versatile set that covers multiple occasions, and third, I could see the possibilities with one of my favorite masking and blending techniques. I hope you enjoy this hop and the cards I created to share with you. This first card highlights the m...
