Countryside Shapes - A Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Hello everyone, and welcome back! It's the third Saturday of the month...time for another Blog Hop! Thank you for joining us for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop! If you are new to my blog, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up!® demonstrators worldwide who share our love of card-making through monthly blog hops with various themes. If you are following the hop, you'll have just popped over from Mickey Moore - "2 Moore Stampers's "blog. I hope you took a minute to leave a comment for her as I'm sure she'll appreciate it as much as I will. If you are starting the hop with me, thank you so much and I hope you enjoy what I and the other hoppers have prepared for you today!

Our theme this month is all about shapes...circles, squares, rectangles, animal shapes...whatever that means to you.  I chose to use a hexagon shape for my quick and easy project.  I hope you enjoy this card and that you will try to make one or two for yourselves. If you do, I'd love it if you'd share it with me.

The color palette I chose for my demonstration card feature:

For my card, I chose a hexagon shape from the Something Fancy die set but if you have the retired Hexagon punch you can surely use that too.

As I was perusing Pinterest, I came across a card from Gail Ellis of Blue Rose Paper Treasures from which I took inspiration.  I loved the softness of this card that featured the Hand Penned (retired) suite of products.

This was a "new" to me technique.  Because I'm sorely challenged to line things up properly, I rarely try anything like this.  But I think this one came out very nicely. What do you think?

Measurements:

Base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Layer 1: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" *optional
Layer 2: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
Layer 3: 3 3/4" x 5"

Check out the YouTube video to see how I created the Countryside Inn version of the card.  While there, please LIKE the video, SHARE it with your friends and family, AND SUBSCRIBE to my channel.

Don't forget to visit each of the hoppers today and leave a comment. Up next is Kelly Tarranto.
