Hello Fall Y'all! - Pretty Pumpkins

Welcome and Happy Fall Y'all! Thanks for stopping by Sweets' Stampin' Creations, where I share card projects created using Stampin' Up! products. It's time for another Stamping With Friends blog hop!  I'm hopping with some awesome paper crafters and stampers from the Stamping With Friends Facebook Group.  For this post, it's all about Fall. I love this time of year...although I live in Texas and don't get to experience the changing of the seasons as dramatically as my college years when I lived in Worcester, MA...I still remember the colors of the season and the changing of temperatures from hot to cool (not cold).  Fall, the time of the year between Summer and Winter (usually between September and December) heralds in pumpkin season (pumpkin spice, pumpkin pie...you get the drift), soup season, leaves changing colors, cooler weather, apple picking (I've never done that), etc. T
here are so many ways to celebrate this season of the year.  Let me know in the comments how do you celebrate the Fall Season where you are?

If you've come from Nancy Reynolds' blog, then you saw her project using the Stampin' Up! Nuts About Squirrels set. I hope these and the other projects serve to inspire your creativity.

For my project(s) (yes, today I'm sharing three) I focused on the Pretty Pumpkin and Gorgeous Leaves Bundles. I don't normally use Very Vanilla cardstock as I prefer Basic White, but the colors I knew I was going to play with led me to use it entirely in these three projects.  All of the cards are a standard A2 card base, two of which are in horizontal orientation while the last is in vertical. I used the same techniques across the cards: ink blending, heat embossing, coloring and die cutting.  Fall-ow me (get it 😄) as I take you through the techniques I used to create each one.  Oh, by the way, are you enjoying the Jigsaw puzzles.  The one featured today took me 45 minutes...it's a bit more challenging.  Don't forget to let me know how long it took you!

This was the first card I made and I created it for my monthly Stamp class. I used the blending brushes to create a shadow hue of color.  Starting from a point in the center and blending outward with Mango Melody...I wanted it to be lighter on the outer edges.  When I had the color where I wanted it, I grabbed the Daffodil Delight for a little extra, then stamped the "splotch" image from the Gorgeous Leaves set in Merry Merlot to complete the background panel. I die cut the elaborate pumpkin from Gold Glitter paper, added some velum paper and a spot of Mossy Meadow (for the stem) to complete the pumpkin. Lastly, I stamped and fussy cut the sentiment, popped it up with dimensionals and added some bling.

After this first card, I decided to step it up a bit...ok, maybe a lot...by adding more texture and die cuts to the card.  I followed the same steps above. You'll see that I added a maple leaf (Gorgeous Leaves) which I die cut from some scrap alcohol blended vellum paper that I had laying around and stamped a smaller leaf that I colored using the ink kissing technique.  I loved it so much, I couldn't stand the thought of covering it up...still debating whether or not to add a sentiment on the outside.

Lastly, on the third card, I went back to simple(r)...LOL. I embossed the card base layer using the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder (one of my go to folders). On a smaller panel, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, stamped and colored the pumpkin image and mounted this on a piece of gold foil and mounted that on the cardbase.

I truly hope that you enjoyed my cards because I truly enjoyed making them.  But wait, let me share with you...
