A Christmas in August

Once a month, on the first Sunday of the month, the Fabulous Fun Friday Stampers gather together for our Shoebox Card swap.

What is a Shoebox Swap? In our swap, the coordinator, me, picks the theme and each participant designs a project within the parameters and creates card kits for the number of confirmed attendees. All the kit parts and pieces are placed in a "shoebox" and passed around til everyone creates the card. At the end of the day, you leave the event with several ideas.

So this month, our theme was "Christmas in August" and our projects had to include ribbon. There were seven (7) of us. Take a look and see what the crew crested. I'm always amazed at the talent of the ladies I stamp with.

(Note: our group consists of Stampin' Up! and non-Stampin' Up!  demonstrators. We set no limitations on brands that can be used or whether current or retired products are used), but the majority of us are either demonstrators or current Stampin' Up! customers.  I hope you enjoy their creativity.  If you do,  please leave a comment and let them know.

In The Moment January - June 2022 Mini Catalog Sneak Peak

Hello, all! Thank you for joining me for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop! For those of you who are unfamiliar, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who share our love of card making with you through monthly blog hops with various themes.  This month, we are sharing with you sneak peeks from the January - June 2022 Mini Catalog.  If you've come from  Mo Rootes'  blog, then you saw her project using the  Stampin' Up! Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper (DSP) . I hope these and the other projects serve to inspire your creativity.   Speaking of catalogs, if you don't have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like a catalog, reach out to me. I'd love to get one out to you and to serve as your demonstrator. For my contribution to this blog hop, I chose the "In the Moment" set. I fell in love with this set, "In The Moment", the moment I opened my order and saw it.  This was another of the FREE swag bag produc...

Stampin' with Friends Technique Blog Hop - Masking

Hi there, Stamping Friends!  It's time for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop.  As you know, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators who enjoy paper crafting, creating cards, and other projects to share with each other and with you. If you've arrived from Karen's blog, welcome!  This time, the theme is to create a card or project based on a favorite technique.  There are sooooo many techniques that I love but with this project, I'm going to focus mainly on two.  Can you guess what one of them is? Yup, you guessed it...masking!  There're so many things you can do with this technique from: simple masking to creating seamless backgrounds and adding depth...hmmm, I think I've decided to do a blog series focusing on the different things you can do with masking. For this post, I chose to start with a simple spotlight masking technique. Let me show you how I created this card. Now I incorporated several other techniques (dry ...

Stampin' with Friends Blog Hop Vine Design

Hi, so glad you decided to pop in to see what I have in store for you today.   This is my inaugural blog hop with Stamping with Friends. Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who enjoy sharing our love of paper crafting in general and for me, more specifically, card making with you. The group hosts two hops every month.   The theme for this hop showcases retiring sets, bundles, or products from the January - June 2021 mini catalog that retires at the end of this month.  I chose to feature the Vine Design Bundle. I was drawn to this bundle for many reasons; first, the die cuts are elegant and can stand alone to create a beautiful, simple yet elegant card, second, the sentiments also make it a very versatile set that covers multiple occasions, and third, I could see the possibilities with one of my favorite masking and blending techniques. I hope you enjoy this hop and the cards I created to share with you. This first card highlights the m...
