Storage Series: 6 x 6 Paper Holder

Storage

If you are anything like me, your work area stays a constant mess and maybe out of a 16" x 16" workspace you have maybe all of 6" of it available to you.  Although I don't regularly make non-greeting card paper projects, purchasing them can become quite expensive.

In this past year, I've participated in several Stampin' Up! paper shares.  A paper share offers the opportunity to receive samples of all the new paper releases offered by Stampin Up from their newest Annual, Holiday, Occasions, or Sale-a-bration catalogs.  That way you (as a demonstrator or as a customer) has the opportunity to "try before you buy"!  Additionally, Stampin' Up!'s 6x6 paper packs are no longer bound.

Thanks to a YouTube Video from Nigezza Creates, I've implemented this storage system to create envelopes for my 6X6 paper shares and SU's unbounded 6x6 paper packs and store them in photo boxes that I can get at Michael's especially when they have them at $2 each.

I use the envelope punch board to create my pockets and the We R Memory Keepers Tab Punch to create the index cards

Measurements for the pockets

To hold a full pack of 48 sheets I recommend a depth of 3/8". To make this pocket you need:

  • 9 7/8" x 9 7/8' cardstock
  • First punch 4 5/8th
  • Score
  • Second punch 5 1/4"
  • Score
  • Rotate and use the score lines as a guide for the next punch and score positions
  • Repeat on all 4 sides

1/4" Deep

  • 9 5/8" x 9 5/8' cardstock
  • First punch 4 5/8th
  • Score
  • Second punch 5"
  • Score
  • Rotate and use the score lines as a guide for the next punch and score positions
  • Repeat on all 4 sides

1/8" Deep

  • 9 1/2" x 9 1/2' cardstock
  • First punch 4 5/8th
  • Score
  • Second punch 4 7/8"
  • Score
  •  Rotate and use the score lines as a guide for the next punch and score positions
  • Repeat on all 4 sides

  • Labels - I use my Dymo label maker

    • I wanted to label each pocket with the name of the paper and also the colors that were in the papers
    • This helps to match the ink and cardstock, ribbons and embellishments

After you've punched and scored your paper, pick one side of your paper, fold it and adhere that side to the base.  Then burnish each scoreline of the 3 remaining flaps to complete your sleeve.

Tip:  I add the paper pack to ensure everything lines up!

    Happy Stampin'!
