Stop the Presses! Changes are a'comin!

Hello, hello, hello, Stamping friends! Caron, here...your #atxstampinlady, sharing some big (and I mean BIG) news!

Yesterday, Stampin' Up! shared with us some upcoming changes to their product range, affecting cling stamps, Stampin' Write Markers, and how our dies and photopolymer stamp sets are packaged. Click here to see a video explaining the changes.

Product Updates

Cling Stamps (Red Rubber)

Stampin' Up! has decided to discontinue production of cling stamps as key raw materials have become increasingly difficult to source or even unavailable. The last catalog that will include cling stamp sets will be the upcoming September-December Mini Catalog. From November's Online Exclusive release onwards, all new stamp sets will be photopolymer. Available cling stamps sets will be moved to the Last Chance category when both the Mini and Annual Catalog end if they have not sold out. Online Exclusive cling sets will be available until April 2026 at the latest when they will move to the Last Chance category, although some may be discontinued before then.

Background stamps will still be part of our range, but will be photopolymer instead. If you are concerned about using StāzOn™ ink with your photopolymer stamps, cleaning the ink off your photopolymer stamps as soon as possible after use will preserve their longevity.

Stampin' Write Markers

Stampin' Blends™ have become much more popular, so Stampin' Write Markers will be discontinued. On August 20th they will move to the Last Chance category. If you have marker sets on your shopping list, don't delay ordering as they are only available while supplies last!

New and Improved Stamp and Die Packaging

As photopolymer stamps are thinner, Stampin' Up! has redesigned our durable, clear plastic envelopes to be sleeker and slimmer. Both photopolymer stamps and dies will come in this new style of packaging in the same size (measuring 5⅝" x 9" or 14.3 x 22.9 cm), making them easier to store. Die packages will now also feature printed artwork for much easier identification and organisation, and the larger size will mean more stamp artwork can be shown at 100%.

All new stamps and dies from November's Online Exclusive release onwards will come in the new packaging. Dies released before then will not be switched to the new packaging and will be sold in the existing style of packaging until they are discontinued. Photopolymer stamps released before November will transition to the new packaging over time, depending on inventory levels, so you may receive some stamps in old packaging and some in new.

Standard Stamp Cases (119105) will remain available for purchase to help you organize your stamps and supplies, although they may be discontinued in the future. The new style storage envelopes, Stamp & Die Organizers (167772), will be available to purchase in packs of 10 from November 4th should you wish to transfer your photopolymer stamps and die sets to the new packaging.

Creative Inspiration with a Sketch

Here's this month's sketch:

And here's the project it inspired:

The Silly Safari Bundle includes cute animal images that are ready to be coloured using your favourite technique.

The chimp image from the Silly Safari Photopolymer Stamp Set was stamped on Basic White Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento™ Ink. The image was cut out with the coordinating 1⅞" Circle Punch, aligning the bottom of the stamped image with the bottom of the circle. The sentiment was then added using Old Olive Classic Stampin' Ink in the space left at the top of the punched circle. The chimp was coloured using Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends. A 2" Circle Punch was used to create a second circle from Early Espresso Cardstock, and this was adhered behind the stamped circle.

The palm frond image from the same stamp set was stamped randomly across the front of a folded Early Espresso card base using Early Espresso ink. A rectangle measuring 2¼" x 5" was cut from the Old Olive pattern from the Celebratory Sips 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, and one of the short edges cut to create a banner shape. This was adhered directly to the card front.

A square of Crumb Cake Cardstock was embossed using the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, and trimmed to measure 2¾" square. A length of Mossy Meadow & Gold ¼" Trim was wrapped around the embossed square and tied in a bow on the left-hand side. The solid leaf image, again from the Silly Safari set, was stamped twice on Basic White Cardstock using Old Olive ink and carefully cut out. The two leaves were added to the bottom left quadrant of the embossed square using Stampin' Dimensionals™. The stamped circle element was added to the centre of the square, also using Stampin' Dimensionals. Mossy Meadow Low Profile Sparkle Dots were added as the final embellishments.

Creative Inspiration with a Color Combination

Here's this month's color combination:

And here's the project it inspired:

The Floral Charm Suite Collection features detailed roses and foliage, and a rich color palette combined with watercolor artistry.

The large floral arrangement was cut from Basic Beige Cardstock using the die from the Charming Day Dies. This was then adhered to a folded Basic Beige card base, with Stampin' Dimensionals™ used on to raise up the right side of the die cut on the card front.

A strip of the coral-toned rose patterned paper from the Floral Charm 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper measuring 1¾" x 5½" was added to the left-hand side of the card front, overlapping part of the die cut.

The larger floral image from the Charming Day Cling Stamp Set was stamped on Basic White Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento™ Ink, and colored using Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, and Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends™. The colored image was then die cut using the coordinating die from the Charming Day Dies, and added to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals to raise up the left-hand side.

The sentiment was stamped on a rectangle of Calypso Coral Cardstock measuring ¾" x 2¾" using VersaMark™ Ink, and embossed using white powder from the Basics WOW! Embossing Powders. The sentiment panel was added to the card front, overlapping the colored floral element, using Stampin' Dimensionals. Petal Pink Charming Shimmer Faceted Dots were added as the final embellishments.

I'd love to get one out to you and to serve as your demonstrator. For my contribution to this blog hop, I chose the "In the Moment" set. Stampin' with Friends Technique Blog Hop - Masking

Hi there, Stamping Friends!  It's time for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop.  As you know, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators who enjoy paper crafting, creating cards, and other projects to share with each other and with you. If you've arrived from Karen's blog, welcome!  This time, the theme is to create a card or project based on a favorite technique.  There are sooooo many techniques that I love but with this project, I'm going to focus mainly on two.  Can you guess what one of them is? Yup, you guessed it...masking!  There're so many things you can do with this technique from: simple masking to creating seamless backgrounds and adding depth...hmmm, I think I've decided to do a blog series focusing on the different things you can do with masking. For this post, I chose to start with a simple spotlight masking technique. Let me show you how I created this card. Now I incorporated several other techniques (dry ...

Stampin' with Friends Blog Hop Vine Design

Hi, so glad you decided to pop in to see what I have in store for you today.   This is my inaugural blog hop with Stamping with Friends. Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who enjoy sharing our love of paper crafting in general and for me, more specifically, card making with you. The group hosts two hops every month.   The theme for this hop showcases retiring sets, bundles, or products from the January - June 2021 mini catalog that retires at the end of this month.  I chose to feature the Vine Design Bundle. I was drawn to this bundle for many reasons; first, the die cuts are elegant and can stand alone to create a beautiful, simple yet elegant card, second, the sentiments also make it a very versatile set that covers multiple occasions, and third, I could see the possibilities with one of my favorite masking and blending techniques. I hope you enjoy this hop and the cards I created to share with you. This first card highlights the m...
