Floral Phrases

Play dates

After a long (and I mean long) work week, I really needed to relax and de-stress.  Thanks to my friends +Gail Tassey  and Elaine for wanting to have a play date too and sharing their day with me getting crafty.

Floral Phrases Item#: 142355
Today's featured Stamp set is Stampin' Up's Floral Phrases.  Since the catalog release I'd been eyeing this set...a little intimidated by it actually, but loving it just the same...but just didn't get it (to be honest, with the release of the annual catalog and the holiday catalog, there're sooooo many that are in my HAVE TO HAVE column that I just have to pace myself)!  Anyway, I digress a bit...squirrel...LOL  Finally added it to my cart and with that and Pinterest...decided to play with this set today...and boy was I excited to play with it.

So after meeting up with my friends for a crafty play date, I made two cards (started a third) using this set.

First, CASEd from Patty Bennett on Pinterest, using the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper and the Floral Boutique Designer Washi Tape, I made this awesome A2 sized Z-fold card.  I made a couple of minor adjustments...really to make the card my own as it needed no added anything...

The second card I made using this set, I CASEd from Splitcoaststampers (via Pinterest).  I used a monochromatic palette with Pool Party.  I also used that other tool that I just can't live without...yes, you guess it..the MISTI.  Thanks to the Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented, we were able to "breeze" though setting up this card design.

I started a third using Stampin' Up!'s Real Red (the holidays are coming you know) but didn't quite finish.  Drop by again to see the red (Christmas) version.  This stamp is versatile and you can use it for any occasion:  Thank Yous, birthdays, Thinking of You, Get well...you name it. Stop by my online Stampin' Up! website; use the November Hostess Code and get yours today.  Buy the bundle and get 10% off.

Happy Creative Stampin!

Stampin' with Friends Technique Blog Hop - Masking

Hi there, Stamping Friends!  It's time for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop.  As you know, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators who enjoy paper crafting, creating cards, and other projects to share with each other and with you. If you've arrived from Karen's blog, welcome!  This time, the theme is to create a card or project based on a favorite technique.  There are sooooo many techniques that I love but with this project, I'm going to focus mainly on two.  Can you guess what one of them is? Yup, you guessed it...masking!  There're so many things you can do with this technique from: simple masking to creating seamless backgrounds and adding depth...hmmm, I think I've decided to do a blog series focusing on the different things you can do with masking. For this post, I chose to start with a simple spotlight masking technique. Let me show you how I created this card. Now I incorporated several other techniques (dry ...

Stampin' with Friends Blog Hop Vine Design

Hi, so glad you decided to pop in to see what I have in store for you today.   This is my inaugural blog hop with Stamping with Friends. Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who enjoy sharing our love of paper crafting in general and for me, more specifically, card making with you. The group hosts two hops every month.   The theme for this hop showcases retiring sets, bundles, or products from the January - June 2021 mini catalog that retires at the end of this month.  I chose to feature the Vine Design Bundle. I was drawn to this bundle for many reasons; first, the die cuts are elegant and can stand alone to create a beautiful, simple yet elegant card, second, the sentiments also make it a very versatile set that covers multiple occasions, and third, I could see the possibilities with one of my favorite masking and blending techniques. I hope you enjoy this hop and the cards I created to share with you. This first card highlights the m...
