Roll of the Die April 2022

Hello, hello, hello!  I'm debuting another series in my blog. This one is going to be called "Roll of the Die".  Every Sunday, I spend a couple of hours with some amazing cardmakers (and we have some other crafters that join us too) including demonstrators, where we gather to make cards, socialize and talk about whatever we want to talk about...it's a free-for-all session, meaning generally, we don't meet to make anything "specific".

@Kathy Ervin, one of the demonstrators in the group, shared a Youtube video with us by fellow demonstrator, Julie Davison, in which she and her mom and sister (I think) crafted on Zoom and created projects from a set of "criteria"...similar to Tic Tac Toe and she thought it would be awesome for our little group.  I watched it and thought yes, let's see if we can make it work for our "little" group.  Mind you, we are all just a little technologically challenged but oh well...the only way you can get better is to actually just "do it"...just like Nike says.  So here we go...

I purchased these awesome blocks on Etsy from the Tada Moments shop and it was right on time.  On the roll of the die, we came up with the theme for our card projects.

Here are the measurements for the card I created:
  • Base (Poppy Parade): 8 1/2"x 5 1/2"; score on the 8 1/2" side at 2 1/8" on both ends
  • DSP: (2) 2"x5 1/4"; (1) 2"x6"
  • Basic White:  (1) 4"x5 1/4" (inside);
Enjoy the video and don't forget to like, subscribe, and share!

Hello, all! Thank you for joining me for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop! For those of you who are unfamiliar, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who share our love of card making with you through monthly blog hops with various themes.  This month, we are sharing with you sneak peeks from the January - June 2022 Mini Catalog.  If you've come from  Mo Rootes'  blog, then you saw her project using the  Stampin' Up! Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper (DSP) . I hope these and the other projects serve to inspire your creativity.   Speaking of catalogs, if you don't have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like a catalog, reach out to me. I'd love to get one out to you and to serve as your demonstrator. For my contribution to this blog hop, I chose the "In the Moment" set. I fell in love with this set, "In The Moment", the moment I opened my order and saw it.  This was another of the FREE swag bag produc...

Stampin' with Friends Technique Blog Hop - Masking

Hi there, Stamping Friends!  It's time for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop.  As you know, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators who enjoy paper crafting, creating cards, and other projects to share with each other and with you. If you've arrived from Karen's blog, welcome!  This time, the theme is to create a card or project based on a favorite technique.  There are sooooo many techniques that I love but with this project, I'm going to focus mainly on two.  Can you guess what one of them is? Yup, you guessed it...masking!  There're so many things you can do with this technique from: simple masking to creating seamless backgrounds and adding depth...hmmm, I think I've decided to do a blog series focusing on the different things you can do with masking. For this post, I chose to start with a simple spotlight masking technique. Let me show you how I created this card. Now I incorporated several other techniques (dry ...

Stampin' with Friends Blog Hop Vine Design

Hi, so glad you decided to pop in to see what I have in store for you today.   This is my inaugural blog hop with Stamping with Friends. Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who enjoy sharing our love of paper crafting in general and for me, more specifically, card making with you. The group hosts two hops every month.   The theme for this hop showcases retiring sets, bundles, or products from the January - June 2021 mini catalog that retires at the end of this month.  I chose to feature the Vine Design Bundle. I was drawn to this bundle for many reasons; first, the die cuts are elegant and can stand alone to create a beautiful, simple yet elegant card, second, the sentiments also make it a very versatile set that covers multiple occasions, and third, I could see the possibilities with one of my favorite masking and blending techniques. I hope you enjoy this hop and the cards I created to share with you. This first card highlights the m...
