Lest all acquaintance be forgot...(singing Auld lang Syne)...it's almost time to say goodbye to the 2020-2022 Stampin' Up! In-Colors and the Stampin' With Friends hoppers are gonna give a big shout-out and do our best to pay homage to our favorite colors from the retiring set of colors.
Hello, hello my stamping friends...welcome and thank you for joining me for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop! If you are new to my blog, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who share our love of card making with you through monthly blog hops with various themes. If you are following the hop, then you'll have just popped over from Deborah Schultz's blog. I hope you took a minute to leave a comment for her as I'm sure she'll appreciate it just as much as I will. If you are starting the hop with me, thank you so much and I hope you enjoy what I and the other hoppers have prepared for you today!
With every new annual catalog, Stampin' Up! reveals five (5) "In Colors" that will be available for a 2-year period...we are retiring the 2020-2022 colors and the 2022-2024 colors will be available when the new catalog goes live in May. But I digress...this blog is about the 2020-2022 colors so let's get right to it.
What are the retiring colors you may ask? They are: Magenta Madness, Just Jade, Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, and Misty Moonlight. While I like them all, I absolutely love and will sorely miss Bumblebee, Misty Moonlight, and Cinnamon Cider and chose to represent them in my card project. My favorite of the three is Cinnamon Cider...I thought it was perfect when I was coloring the ground.
Here's what you'll need to create this card.
- Bumble Bee Cardstock: 11" x 4-1/4", scored and folded at 5-1/2" and 2 1/4" x 4 1/4"
- • Misty Moonlight Cardstock: 5-1/4" x 4"
- • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" and 2"x 4 1/4"
- DSP: 3-3/4" x 1-5/8" (you need 2 of these in the same pattern and another 1 in a contrasting pattern)
I have trouble tying bows and knots around card panels. Tip: use a small punch...I used a circle to take a nip out on each side of the panel where the ribbon will go...it will tend to stay in place.
After I layered the DSP on the Misty Moonlight panel, I ran it through the Stampin' Cut n Emboss machine in the Hive 3D embossing folder for a little added texture
Double heat emboss your sentiment...you'll be amazed at the difference.

So now, it's out with the old and in with the new. Stampin' Up! demonstrators have begun to receive our copies of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog...and I couldn't me more excited.
Let me introduce you to the 2022-2024 In Colors: should I tease you a bit or let you guess over the course of the next five blogs before the annual catalog launches: I think we're going to have some fun over the next couple of blogs...subscribe to my newsletter to know when a new blog is posted so you don't miss any of the clues.
I love the texture on the designer series paper that you created with the embossing folder! I also loved Cinnamon Cider...for so many things...it's the brown we've been missing in our core colors for so long. *sigh* I've never double embossed my greetings, I'll have to try that. Thanks for sharing :-D
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! Double heat embossing is easy...I'll try to do a video sometime...thanks for stopping by and for the kind words! Happy Stampin'
