Soft Florals Meet Fresh Color: Creating with the Stampin' Up!® 2026-2028 In Colors & the Opulent Oasis Bundle

There's something magical about opening a fresh pack of cardstock in brand-new In Colors. It's like watching spring arrive one sheet at a time. 🌸

Today I'm sharing a card featuring the Stampin' Up!® 2026-2028 In Colors paired with the gorgeous Opulent Oasis Bundle. This project combines several of my favorite papercrafting techniques to create a soft, elegant design with just the right amount of dimension and sparkle.

Whether you're a beginner looking to try a few new techniques or a seasoned crafter searching for fresh inspiration, this card is a wonderful way to explore what these beautiful products have to offer.

Techniques Used

Ink Blending

The soft floral background begins with gentle ink blending using the Barely Blush, Crisp Cantalope, and Hydrangea Hue inks from the new 2026-2028 In Colors and is accented with the Orchid Oasis (retired) ink. Gradually building the color creates a dreamy, watercolor-inspired effect while allowing the white cardstock to shine through.

Tip: Start your blending brush off the paper before moving onto your project. Light layers always produce the smoothest results.

Heat Embossing

Who doesn't love a little shine?

The sentiment was stamped with embossing ink, covered with white embossing powder, and heat set for a clean, raised finish. Mounting the sentiment onto dark cardstock makes it stand out beautifully against the soft florals.

Heat embossing is one of those techniques that never gets old. Watching the powder melt into a glossy finish is still one of my favorite crafting moments!

Die Cutting

The floral images from the Opulent Oasis Bundle were stamped in complementary In Colors and then die cut for perfectly detailed blooms.

Layering the die-cut flowers with dimensional adhesive creates a lovely focal point while adding movement and texture to the card.

To finish everything off, I added a few gold embellishments to the flower centers for a touch of elegance.

Why I Love This Card

This project perfectly balances soft color with bold contrast.

The fresh 2026-2028 In Colors create a calming palette, while the black embossed sentiment and gold accents add sophistication. It's a versatile design that could easily be adapted for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, congratulations, or simply encouraging someone special.

Sometimes all it takes is a few simple techniques layered together to create something that feels truly special.

Give These Techniques a Try

If you've been wanting to experiment with new techniques, I encourage you to combine two or three on your next project. Ink blending, masking, heat embossing, and die cutting work beautifully together and can transform even the simplest card into something memorable.

Papercrafting isn't about perfection. It's about creating beautiful memories, one card at a time.

Creative Inspiration with a Color Combination

Here's this month's color combination:

And here's the project it inspired:

The Boutique Blossoms Photopolymer Stamp Set features sketched delicate blooms, with the Two-Step Distinktive stamps making it easy to create an artistic coloured finish with beautiful shading.

A rectangle of the Basic Beige diagonal striped patterned paper from the Paper Medley 12" x 12" Mix-In Designer Series Paper measuring 4" x 5¼" was adhered directly to a Basic White folded card base.

The outline floral images from the Boutique Blossoms Photopolymer Stamp Set were stamped on Basic White Cardstock using Golden Glow Classic Stampin' Ink™ and then the Distinktive filler stamps stamped over the top using the same ink. This was repeated with the triple leaf spray images using Mossy Meadow Ink. All images were then cut out with the coordinating dies from the Boutique Blossoms Dies. Additional solid foliage elements were die cut from Basic Beige Cardstock using the largest stem die from that set.

The die-cut floral elements were added to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals™. The die-cut stems were tucked underneath and adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, and the stamped foliage elements tucked underneath and adhered using Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Phrases & Frames Photopolymer Stamp Set, was stamped on Basic White Cardstock using Mossy Meadow Ink, cut out using the Triple Banner Punch, and added to the card front using Dimensionals. A length of Linen Thread was tied in a loose bow and adhered, tucked under the largest flower, using a Mini Glue Dot™. Golden Glow 2026–2028 In Color™ Butterflies were added as embellishments.

Stampin' with Friends Technique Blog Hop - Masking

Hi there, Stamping Friends!  It's time for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop.  As you know, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators who enjoy paper crafting, creating cards, and other projects to share with each other and with you. If you've arrived from Karen's blog, welcome!  This time, the theme is to create a card or project based on a favorite technique.  There are sooooo many techniques that I love but with this project, I'm going to focus mainly on two.  Can you guess what one of them is? Yup, you guessed it...masking!  There're so many things you can do with this technique from: simple masking to creating seamless backgrounds and adding depth...hmmm, I think I've decided to do a blog series focusing on the different things you can do with masking. For this post, I chose to start with a simple spotlight masking technique. Let me show you how I created this card. Now I incorporated several other techniques (dry ...

Stampin' with Friends Blog Hop Vine Design

Hi, so glad you decided to pop in to see what I have in store for you today.   This is my inaugural blog hop with Stamping with Friends. Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who enjoy sharing our love of paper crafting in general and for me, more specifically, card making with you. The group hosts two hops every month.   The theme for this hop showcases retiring sets, bundles, or products from the January - June 2021 mini catalog that retires at the end of this month.  I chose to feature the Vine Design Bundle. I was drawn to this bundle for many reasons; first, the die cuts are elegant and can stand alone to create a beautiful, simple yet elegant card, second, the sentiments also make it a very versatile set that covers multiple occasions, and third, I could see the possibilities with one of my favorite masking and blending techniques. I hope you enjoy this hop and the cards I created to share with you. This first card highlights the m...
