Front Cover of Mini Catalog |
Well, it's that time again...the debut of Stampin' Up!'s July - December 2021 Mini...AND...Sale-A-Bration catalog. Both of which will go live on my website on August 3, 2021. As an Independent Demonstrator, we are privileged to receive the catalog both in digital and hard copy format and (and this is the most important piece..lol), we are able to pre-order and get hold of some of these goodies so we can start creating card projects for you.If you've followed my on my socials (yeah, that's me trying to be "in"), you'll know that my style of card making is simple, yet elegant (#simpleyetelegant). With that in mind and I knowing that I wanted to use the bookbinding fold this is where I started. I chose to use the Painted Christmas Suite Collection...not so much for the images, but for the sentiments as I really wanted to keep the card simple.
Create the Background:On the vellum, scribble the Stampin' Blends in a random pattern. Use one of the water painters to dab the 91% alcohol randomly to spread the alcohol ink (stop frequently to clean the brushes to avoid muddying the colors). Allow to dry completely (note: you can use the heat tool) then trim. Adhere the vellum to the correlating basic white cardstock (Note the vellum piece is cut slightly larger than the basic white to ensure that you are able to secure the vellum on the back of the cardstock without adhesive showing through on the front. Add ribbon and tie a bow on the smaller vellum/cardstock panel. Set aside til assembly.
Now that you've created the background, it's time to assemble the card. Grab the card base and fold on the scored lines. Add adhesive in between the 2 score lines only. Add the smaller vellum/cardstock panel to the left side and the larger panel to the right side. Stamp and punch or die-cut your sentiment, add Stampin' Dimensionals then add to the card on the right side. If you wanted to, you could add some die-cut elements from the suite to step it up a notch or 2.
Lastly, prepare the inside Basic White panel. If you want to stamp an image or sentiment, now is the time to do it before you adhere it to the inside of the card.
Card Recipe: Card base: Early Espresso 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2" and 6 3/4"
Basic White: 4 18" x 4 1/8" / 1" x 4 1/4", scrap for sentiment
Vellum: 6" x 6" cut at 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" and 1" x 4 1/2"
I truly hope you enjoyed the card I created. I can't wait for you to see what the other demonstrators have created as well. Leave me a comment on this post for a chance to get this card sent to you.
Don't forget, there's only a couple of more days left to stock up on Designer Series Paper. The DSP sale ends 8/2/2021.
Please take a moment to stop by the other stampers to see what they've created. Next up in the blog hop is Libby Fens.
