Delicate Dahlia - Stamping with Friends Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop!
We are a group of Independent Demonstrators with Stampin' Up! who enjoy paper crafting and sharing our creations with each other and with you! Each month, the group administrator has several opportunities for us to participate in hops...I had to participate in this one...it's blogger's choice.

Well, the last hop (8/7/2021 - Favorite Sale-a-Bration Item) I shared with you featured the Delicate Dahlia Set (pg 14 of the Sale-a-Bration catalog). In that blog post, I told you that one of the main reasons I loved this set was its versatility.  I also told you that I'd post other projects featuring other coloring methods. Well...I'm delivering on my post...AND... I'm giving you a 2 for 1.

I'm using the August 10, 2021 SplitCoastStampers Color Challenge CC856 (Granny and her Flamingo Bee-Bopping to Melodies) which features Stampin' Up! ink colors: Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo, and Mango Melody as my color palette for these cards.

The first card I did was really SIP.  I stamped the distinctive image twice, once in Flirty Flamingo, the other in Mango Melody.  I then created a mask for the Dahlia and then stamped the leaf image in Granny Apple Green.  Stamped the sentiment on a piece of
scrap paper and then punched it out with the postage stamp punch...added some Stampin' Dimensionals and gems to finish off this first card.

I stepped up card number 2 just a tad...ok, maybe just a little more than a tad.  I started with a smaller basic white card panel (3 3/4" x 5") and stamped the distinctive Dahlia image again in opposite corners.  This time I added the outline image for a 2-step stamped effect.  Masked the image and stamped the leaves (2-step stamped).  I next stamped the sentiment, double heat embossed it, and die cut it out, and added dimensionals.
Dry emboss a piece of Mango Melody cardstock and adhere it to the card base with liquid adhesive or Stampin' Seal C+.  Adhere the art pane to the card base overtop the Mango Melody then pop the sentiment layer in place.
The last thing to do is to add wink of Stella and any other embellishment you choose.

I really enjoyed making and showing you these cards using the Delicate Dahlia set, (FREE Sale-A-Bration item with a $50 purchase) and hope that you enjoy them too.  Oh, and if you get inspired and decide to create a card with either of these techniques, don't forget to share them with me...I'd love to see what you create.

Here's the list of products that I used to create these cards:
