Re"Purpose"ful Stamping

A group of crafters who I lovingly call the Sweets' Sunday Stampers gather every week via Zoom to craft and socialize while we craft. Mostly we create cards, but we have some jewelry makers and yet still others who use the sewing machine or crochet/knitting needles.  Every so often, we decide to do a card swap, totally voluntary of course, within the group. So it made sense for me to show off how much talent there is in our little band.   Including me, there were four other swappers, current Stampin' Up! demonstrators: Sharon Coleman, Kathy Ervin, Michelle Hollins, and Cheryl Robinson.  The theme for this month was to choose an item in the newly retired July to December 2021 Mini Catalog and create a card opposite its intended purpose.  For example, a stamp set/bundle/suite that was clearly "Christmas", make a non-Christmas card etc. We wanted to reinforce with you the idea to 1) use what you have and 2) that any stamp you have on hand/available you can use it t...

Daffodil Day Dream -

Hello, Stampers! Thanks for stopping by today to see what I have in store for you!  I'm going to have fun with the Daffodil Daydream bundle from the newly released Stampin' Up! January- June 2022 Mini Catalog.  Pefect for sooo many occasions. In this project today, we are featuring the masking, tone-on-tone stamping to create your own background, multiple heat embossing, and ink blending techniques...all of which I tend to use regularly in my cardmaking.   This card project used minimal supplies as you can see and was very easy to create.   1. Before you start stamping, cut the following paper pieces: • 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Pale Papaya Cardstock • 3-1/2" x 5" Pale Papaya Cardstock • 2-1/2" x 4" Basic White Cardstock • 2" x 3/4" Basic White Cardstock 2. On the center of the 2-1/2" x 4" Basic White piece, stamp the  single daffodil image from the Daffodil Daydream Stamp Set in Vesafine Claire  ink. Repeat this step, stamping onto a sti...

Tic Tac Toe #003

Have you ever played Tic-Tac-Toe?  I remember playing as a kid for hours on end trying to find the best strategy to win...I loved it!!! So searching through Pinterest, I've come across Tic-Tac-Toe boards for crafting...specifically cardmaking, and was hooked on them. So last year I said to myself, why don't you create some boards...so I did!  I started creating Tic Tac Toe boards to challenge myself to use products or techniques etc in combinations that may be unlikely or unusual to create cards and decided to share them. I'm on my 3rd one. You can find them on my Pinterest board.  My ultimate goal is to create a card using each possible combination on the board...I'm not quite there yet.  The card I chose to  create used the Diagonal path using: Stencils-Ink, Floral, and Ribbon.    I've recently developed a love of layering stencils and although I love the ones from Altenew, I find them a little challenging.  Then I discovered the Pin...

Introducing the New Horizon Suite

In the new January - June 2022 Mini Catalog, Stampin' Up! debuts nine (9) Product Suites.  Today, I'm gonna share with you the New Horizon Suite.  I haven't created any cards as yet with this suite, but I wanted you to know about it. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. As always, if you don't have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I'd love to be yours.  Subscribe to my newsletter and follow my blog for updates, news, tips and tricks.

Hello, stamping friends and welcome to 2022! It's time for another Stampin' with Friends blog hop...in fact, the first for the New Year!  I'm excited...aren't you? First, let me thank you all for supporting my blog in 2021, your comments and visits served as motivators.  Thank you to my fellow SwF bloggers...because of y'all, I blew the dust off my blog keyboard and vowed to minimally post a blog monthly.  Going into the new year, my goal is to minimally post to my blog at least twice a month. Have you guys set goals for 2022? I'd be honored if you would share at least one of them with me in the comments. Wow! There are 19 (including myself) participating in this first Stamping with Friends blog hop is a sketch challenge. Sketch, layouts, templates...whatever you choose to call them...are a great way to open the creativity gates...especially if you get stuck on where to start a project.  What is a sketch challenge? Simple, a layout/diagram is selected and we...
