Stampin' With Friends Sketch Challenge Hop

Hello, stamping friends and welcome to 2022! It's time for another Stampin' with Friends blog hop...in fact, the first for the New Year!  I'm excited...aren't you? First, let me thank you all for supporting my blog in 2021, your comments and visits served as motivators.  Thank you to my fellow SwF bloggers...because of y'all, I blew the dust off my blog keyboard and vowed to minimally post a blog monthly.  Going into the new year, my goal is to minimally post to my blog at least twice a month.

Have you guys set goals for 2022? I'd be honored if you would share at least one of them with me in the comments.

Wow! There are 19 (including myself) participating in this first Stamping with Friends blog hop is a sketch challenge. Sketch, layouts, templates...whatever you choose to call them...are a great way to open the creativity gates...especially if you get stuck on where to start a project.

What is a sketch challenge? Simple, a layout/diagram is selected and we create a card. Now, although you'll see the same layout, we won't all choose the same colors, stamp set, designer paper, technique, or embellishment...and some may even change things up a bit.

The sketch chosen was from Freshly Made Sketches, sketch #95 (FMS95). I was a little challenged by the sketch...only because for me I have a difficult time discerning what the measurements are as intended by the designer just by looking at them.  I generally prefer sketches where measurements are given so I don't have to guess...or rather "go rogue".

To complete this card, I chose Stampin' Up! Eden's Garden.  I hope you guys had the opportunity to shop the collection last month because as you now know, the gems and DSP are not available in the current Jan - Jun 2022 Mini Catalog...😧. I used multiple simple techniques: heat embossing, second-generation stamping, and tone-on-tone stamping to create my own background.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy my card and those of the other hoppers as well. The products I used to create the card are listed below.  Reminder, you'll only be able to purchase the Stamp/Die Bundle.

In a Man's World Inaugural Bloghop

I'm excited to be participating in my first blog hop. Welcome to the Masculine Themed Blog Hop - a collection of ideas from current Stampin' Up! demonstrators featuring creations that focus on those masculine figures in our lives-fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins, and friends.  As both my dad and my brother have birthdays this month AND Father's Day is in June...this was a timely project for me. For my project, I focused on using the stamp set, Whiskey Business and then supplemented with the Stacked Stone Set...neither of which I had used before but I so wanted the opportunity to play with them.  The card is a standard A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") card base in landscape orientation. Cardbase: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" DSP: 4" x 5 1/4" Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4"                        Scrap for the sentiment and the image Basic Black Strip: 1/2" x 5 1/4" Stacked Stone: 2" x 5 1/4" Techniques I used to create this card include maskin

Delicate Dahlia - Stamping with Friends Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop!   We are a group of Independent Demonstrators with Stampin' Up! who enjoy paper crafting and sharing our creations with each other and with you! Each month, the group administrator has several opportunities for us to participate in hops...I had to participate in this one...it's blogger's choice.  Well, the last hop (8/7/2021 - Favorite Sale-a-Bration Item) I shared with you featured the Delicate Dahlia Set (pg 14 of the Sale-a-Bration catalog). In that blog post, I told you that one of the main reasons I loved this set was its versatility.  I also told you that I'd post other projects featuring other coloring methods. Well...I'm delivering on my post...AND... I'm giving you a 2 for 1.  I'm using the August 10, 2021 SplitCoastStampers Color Challenge CC856 ( Granny and her  Flamingo   Bee-Bopping to Melodies ) which features Stampin' Up! ink colors: Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo, and Mango Mel
