🍂 Cozy Autumn Fun-Fold Card Featuring the Autumn Toile Suite Collection - A Stamping with Friends Blogpost

Welcome, friends! 🌸 Today I’m joining the fun, Stamping With Friends
Cardmaking Blog Hop with a group of talented Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators who love to share creativity and inspiration. Each stop along the hop is filled with unique ideas, tips, and projects to spark your imagination.

If you’re following along the hop, you’ve just arrived from Annette Elias', and I’m so glad you’re here! If you’re starting with me, be sure to hop all the way through so you don’t miss a single project—there’s inspiration waiting for you at every stop. So don't forget to leave a comment for each of the hoppers.

Grab your favorite beverage, settle in, and let’s dive into some crafty fun! Our theme this month is to create a Holiday/season-themed card.

There’s something magical about crafting in the fall—the warm colors, the cozy textures, and the irresistible urge to make all the cards. Today I’m sharing a delightful fun-fold project featuring the Autumn Toile Suite Collection from Stampin’ Up! This suite practically begs to be used for seasonal crafting, with its elegant foliage, rich tones, and timeless patterns.

This project is a simple but striking diamond-flap fun fold that looks

impressive on display but comes together beautifully. It’s perfect for a fall birthday, a gratitude card, or even a “just because” note to brighten someone’s day.

And yes—there’s a video tutorial to walk you through every step!
👉 Watch the corresponding YouTube tutorial here.

🍁 About the Card

This fun fold features two flaps that open from opposite sides—almost like opening the pages of a storybook. When the flaps are closed, they create a beautiful diamond focal point.  I saw this card on Sue Philip's reel (Sue's Paper Creations) and just had to give it a go! So what do you think? Will you try it? Please do.

This is a virtual class, and your class kit is free with a minimum purchase of $35 in my online store. Spend $50 or more, and you’ll receive the full class kit plus a pack of the 2024–2026 In Color Flat Pearls as a sweet bonus! (Note: I reserve the right to substitute based on availability)

✂️ Project Measurements

Use these measurements to recreate the card exactly as shown in the tutorial:

Base Color:

  • Pecan Pie: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and 3 7/8"x 5 3/8"
Designer Series Paper (Autumn Toile DSP):
    • 12" x 5 1/4
    • Score at 2", 4", 8", and 10" on the long side
  • 1/2" x 5"

Inner Layer

  • Basic White: 3 3/4" x 5 1/8" (sentiment area)

  • scrap: focal image; and outside sentiment

🍂 Finishing Touches

To complete the design, layer your DSP panels, add your die-cut accents, and "outside" stamp sentiment to tie the interior and exterior together, and add embellishments as you choose. Whether you prefer some glitz and glimmer or bold autumn hues, the Autumn Toile Suite makes it easy to achieve a warm, inviting card that feels handcrafted and heartfelt.

And I'll leave you with a little color inspiration...

Creative Inspiration with a Color Combination

Here's this month's color combination:

And here's the project it inspired:

The new Brushed with Beauty Suite Collection includes patterned paper featuring florals in muted tones, along with stamp and die bundles that feature both floral and foliage elements, and sentiments that can be the focal point of your designs.

The three 'because' dies from the Words of Beauty Dies were used to cut the three layers of the focal point sentiment, which were adhered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Adhesive Sheets could also be used). Vellum 12" x 12" Specialty Paper was used for the base layer, Crumb Cake Cardstock was used for the middle, and Petal Pink Cardstock die used for the top. The completed layered element was added to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals™.

The middle-sized label die from the Words of Beauty Dies was used to cut a label from Very Vanilla Cardstock. The 'You've Been on My Mind' stamp, from the coordinating Words of Beauty Photopolymer Stamp Set, was stamped on the label using Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Ink™. Very Vanilla Baker's Twine, from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, was wrapped around the card front three times, and tied to the right side of the dotted DSP layer. The stamped label was added with Stampin' Dimensionals, over the knot securing the twine.

Shop my top product picks for this project:

A rectangle of the Very Vanilla floral pattern from the Brushed with Beauty 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper measuring 4¼" x 5½" was adhered to a folded Crumb Cake card base (with the fold at the top). The long sides of a smaller rectangle of the dotted patterned paper from the same DSP (measuring 4¼" x 2½"; approx. ½" taller than the final layer) were torn to expose the white core of the paper along those edges. This layer was then adhered to the center of the card front.

Don't forget you can bundle and save! Purchase the Words of Beauty Bundle and save 10%.

Stampin' with Friends Technique Blog Hop - Masking

Hi there, Stamping Friends!  It's time for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop.  As you know, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators who enjoy paper crafting, creating cards, and other projects to share with each other and with you. If you've arrived from Karen's blog, welcome!  This time, the theme is to create a card or project based on a favorite technique.  There are sooooo many techniques that I love but with this project, I'm going to focus mainly on two.  Can you guess what one of them is? Yup, you guessed it...masking!  There're so many things you can do with this technique from: simple masking to creating seamless backgrounds and adding depth...hmmm, I think I've decided to do a blog series focusing on the different things you can do with masking. For this post, I chose to start with a simple spotlight masking technique. Let me show you how I created this card. Now I incorporated several other techniques (dry ...

Stampin' with Friends Blog Hop Vine Design

Hi, so glad you decided to pop in to see what I have in store for you today.   This is my inaugural blog hop with Stamping with Friends. Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who enjoy sharing our love of paper crafting in general and for me, more specifically, card making with you. The group hosts two hops every month.   The theme for this hop showcases retiring sets, bundles, or products from the January - June 2021 mini catalog that retires at the end of this month.  I chose to feature the Vine Design Bundle. I was drawn to this bundle for many reasons; first, the die cuts are elegant and can stand alone to create a beautiful, simple yet elegant card, second, the sentiments also make it a very versatile set that covers multiple occasions, and third, I could see the possibilities with one of my favorite masking and blending techniques. I hope you enjoy this hop and the cards I created to share with you. This first card highlights the m...
