Roll of the Die #2

Hey, Stampers! This month's Roll of the Die is all about the masculine figures in our lives... fathers, brothers, uncles, nephews, etc...and with Father's Day around the corner, it seemed most appropriate to feature them. Our participating demonstrators this month are: Kathy Ervin, Michelle Hollins, and yes, me.

When we rolled the dies to determine what should be included in today's cards, we got: clean and simple, paper piecing, layers, and embellishment(s)...and this is in addition to the masculine theme. Well, if you are familiar with clean and simple, you'll know that this was a little bit of a task. Well, I did my best to produce these cards and I hope you'll like them. Leave me a comment to let me know how I did.

Measurements:

Basic white: A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"); (2) 3 3/4" x 5", (2) 4" x 5 1/4"

DSP: scrap World of Good

Using the Layering Diorahma dies (I used the 4th die), I used the Stampin' Cut n Emboss machine and created a mask. I saved the solid piece for another project. I layered the mask on the
coordinating 3 3/4" panel and added color using the ink blending technique starting with Melon Mambo, then the Cajun Craze, followed by the Cinnamon Cider. Once I'd done that, I added the bird images to the top right of the panel, the sailboat image to the bottom right (Early Espresso) and then the shadow in second generation stamping using the same Early Espresso. Stamp the sails on the DSP then fussy cut or punch the image out.

Take a look at another card I made using the same technique. This one featured the Campology and Watercolor Shapes sets. Come on, give this technique a try...you'll love it!
